The Barbecue/Anderson Creek precincts were each divided into two new precincts. The new precincts are Barbecue/Benhaven, Barbecue/Spout Springs, Anderson Creek/Overhills, and Anderson Creek/Flat Branch. Small boundary adjustments were also made to Central Lillington, Johnsonville, and Stewarts Creek.

Early Voting for the 2026 Primary and General Elections

For the seventeen day early voting period in 2026, the county is expected to have five early voting locations. Two new locations have been added in the western part of the county because Western Harnett High School will no longer serve as an early voting site. The school itself is not closing. Only its role as a voting site is ending. The final early voting plan will be decided by the NC State Board of Elections in December.

Proposed Early Voting Locations

Angier Elementary School
130 E McIver Street, Angier

Erwin Parks and Recreation Gym
810 South 16th Street, Erwin

The Commons at the Government Complex
309 West Cornelius Harnett Boulevard, Lillington

Benhaven Early College and Community Center
2815 Oliva Road, Sanford

Anderson Creek Emergency Services
6200 Overhills Road, Spring Lake

Two Sunday voting days were removed by a three to two vote of the GOP led County Board of Elections. This decision now goes to the NC State Board of Elections for review.
