Executive Leadership

Council of State Members

Supporting the Executive Branch is the Council of State, a constitutionally established body made up of eight independently elected officials. Each member oversees a specific department — from agriculture and insurance to public instruction and labor — and works independently of the Governor. While not a cabinet, the Council of State plays a critical role in approving certain state decisions and ensuring that core public services operate efficiently and transparently.
